River Guide

Location:

Jackson, WY

Lewis & Clark only hires river guides with previous professional guiding experience. Our guides row or paddle both “Scenic” Float Trips and Class III whitewater raft trips. On whitewater days you’ll run from 1 to 5 8-mile whitewater trips. On scenic float days, you’ll guide 1 to 3 13-mile trips. Must have current CPR and 1st Aid certifications. Swiftwater rescue and WFRs are encouraged, but not required. When working a full season from mid-May to mid-September a guide may run 150-200 trips or more in the summer. We operate with a small staff of only 10-12 full-time guides each summer. Great emphasis is placed on safety and customer service. The on-river experience via natural history and interpretation is key to guiding at Lewis & Clark. Guides may choose to work 3-6 days per week. If you lack either paddle-guiding or rowing skills, training will be provided. Pay is based on experience.
